Skating...In our own backyard!

Nana and Papa got the kids a rink for an Xmas present and for a b'day present for Greg and myself. It was much anticipated and has been so much fun for the kids. They are taking lessons in town but it is nice to get an extra little boost in your own backyard! And I even got some new skates of my own. Lovin' the outdoor exercise.

our keyboard enthusiast

annie spends hours doing two things. reading and playing the piano. (her xmas christmas playing is getting to her dad, but that will soon be done!). she will sit here for hours and play and play...until trouble comes along and thinks she wants to play!

p.o.l.l.y. p.o.c.k.e.t.s

Who knew when we were collecting Polly Pockets before Molly was born that they would be played with so much? Molly just loves them! That and Barbies. Annie told me the other day that it is so nice to have someone to play with now...

Robots!

No toys like empty boxes. Then they wanted to really test their mom and asked for robots! Which they played in for HOURS!!

A Holidaying Grandma

This is a long overdue post. Gma Woods came to visit us for a few weeks (back in November). I hardly have any photos as my Nikon died the weekend after she arrived. I still have my good Canon but it doesn't take photos as nicely or quickly as my Nikon. Anyways, there were lots of puzzles, Yahtzee and dominoes when she was here! Drew especially was delighted with Great Gma and wanted to know why she left...

60 Big Ones for Nana

So my dear mom turned the big 6-0! Ang and I were thinking that we were going to miss it. Dad kept calling with updates of his plans for the party so 3 days before we quickly booked last minute tickets and hopped on the plane the morning of her b'day! It was a wonderful surprise and we would not have missed it. We flew from Calgary Sunday morning at 7 am and we arrived back in Calgary Monday morning at 7:05! A whirlwind trip but worth every exhausting minute! Here are some photos...
The birthday girl - a Halloween b'day no less - and her witch hat! Mom and the chief organizer - and very good at it! DAD!! with Molly...who was lucky enough to come to Rocanville to help celebrate.
A supper catered by none other than Wiebes and done up just right. We were stuffed to the gills.

The lovely Will and Sue Crosson.
Mr Rowan Woods
Miss Natalie
Mr Cuteness - Daudi, don't you love his grin?!
Myla Moo - love her barrette! Stylin'...
And not to forget little Miss Adair...her and Molly even kind of played. Hope they can get together more as they get older 'cause they aren't too far apart in age.
Uncle Harvey - dining solo. Auntie Marion had to work...
Karen Dodds and Myron Wiebe
Herbie Park - Stuffed Mushroom Eating Champion!
Uncle Ervin
Lana, the lovely cook and Della serving the cake. No one makes carrot cake like Lana. Yummm.

We had a travelling halloween party. We went from house to house, playing a game at eat, collecting some treats and having a few appetizers. It was great fun and the kids had a blast.

Halloween At School

I went in to help with Jack's party! Quite the circus but lots of fun for the kids. I didn't go to Annie's because she said she didn't need help. Wish I would have got a photo of the outfit she came up with 'cause it was fabulous...!

A Budding Musician??

Much to her delight Molly realized the other day that she could sit on the piano and then stand up on the bench then bang down again. She repeated this for quite some time 'til she got giggling so much I was sure she was going to fall off. She was so pleased with herself - as you can see by the blurry photo at the top!

A Surprise Landing

It isn't every day that you are lucky enough to have a helicopter land behind your house! Greg and Drew tore out there on the Gator and were told that they had to touch down because their door was falling off! Awesome to have it so close and wish we had been offered a ride...

Jack's 1st Field Trip

I went along as as a helper Mom to the firehall with the Kindergartens!

since arriving home from rugby annie has been wearing this hat. she has asked me several times if I think that she looks cool with it on. hmmm. what's your opinion? I am still laughing! so funny... drew is fascinated with making challenged looking poses and then asking me to take a photo so he can see it. this is something that I don't want to forget so I am posting it. he was doing this at rugby. what talent, eh?

princess molly found a seat that she could observe from!
as big Bro Jack was doing the same thing, I guess it seemed a good idea to her!

a rugby tackle!

A four week try at Rugby was offered at Annie's school - I signed her up! She got a shirt out of the deal and some exercise. And lots of fun too, I think! Here are some shots from her last day.
