Fair Play Fun Day

So now they have "fair play" day which is kind of like track and field without any competition. Too bad if you ask me. I love the races and the long jump when I was in school. You got a red, blue or white ribbon and best of all a yummy concession with hotdogs and lots of different candies. I pretty much lived for the day. This was fun for the kids as well and they all bring home a purple ribbon. And there is a family picnic which is a nice idea too!!! Times are changing, I guess. I heard from a friend at home yesterday that Track and Field has not changed in Rocanville yet and you can still get a yummy hotdog. How lucky they are!!!

A New Hobby

I bought myself a new sewing machine and metres and metres of material. Not a great project for summertime but a nice one for late evenings....! I have so far made an apron for Annie, these skirts and a pillowcase for Drew. On pause now to get the house back in order!!

Annie's Field Trip

The Grade 2 class took a field trip to Sunnybrook Farms in Red Deer. They made butter, toured old buildings, washed socks and made bannock. Also they had delicious hotdogs for lunch, milked a wooden cow and visited some farm animals...

(Annie got lots of torment from the guy named Donovan who worked there for her Saskatchewan Roughriders shirt!!! I think he wished he could have fit into it. She was delighted with the teasing and kept giggling...)

Drew and Moll

Love this one of Drew with his crazy hair. The look goes with the blond hair which I am having trouble cutting off 'cause I love it...! The kids got a wonderful little package in the mail. All of them got a watch from Nana. I have never seen them more excited, not even at Disneyworld. What fun to get mail!!

Flowers And Dirty Feet

the kids and I went for a nice Sunday afternoon walk in the pasture then home to soak their muddy feet! and take some photos for nana of the flowers...

Precautionary Measures

some of us have been spending time leaning over the toilet bowl this week (greg and jack so far!) - molly woke up rolling around so we got her some pepto bismal and a pail. when we all woke up again this was how she had fallen asleep. nothing like being ready for anything, eh? smart girl!!

Redneck Tree Removal

my gator battery was dead and my husband was either hanging over the toilet or flat on his back in bed so drew and I removed the dead tree with the truck!! worked like a charm...didn't even have to dig a hole for the new tree! I think I will keep a chain in my back pocket from now on. quite handy...
