WHY don't we do this more often?

Summer seems to fly by and with it all the opportunities to sit around a campfire. What better way to spend a beautiful evening? Roasting a hotdog and slathering it with the condiments of your choice and then watching the red coals and throwing on some more logs while chatting it up with good friends? Well, we have had a few campfires this year, mostly while camping. But in our yard we have a perfectly good firepit that I built last year. It has now been used TWICE, in two years. Last nite we headed out again for a wiener roast, this time to the pasture. The cows were too nervous to come see us but the frogs did come out and the thistles were in abundance. And the kids had so much fun. So my question is...why don't we do this more often?
The official "fire" man.
Our Frog friend.
The firewood collectors.

Grandma and Drew doing some "pattycakin'".

Pasture flowers - the name has left me.

Auntie Mara and Jack.

Drew and his Bumbo friend! Watching us get the fire started....

And get it going we did. It was impressive, if we must say so ourselves.

Family talent.

Fun pics!
There is just something about watching a fire, cooking hotdogs & eating smores that I just love! I miss it, wish WE could do it more often.
